MY OH MY, i'M WAY BEHIND ON MY POSTS

Image
Excuses, I have plenty of them. I'm guessing some has been because of missing my husband, but I have been able to get some things done, mainly working on program designs for people who want to open residential care homes in California. Doing this brings in some spending money--which i can surely use. I'm planning a book sale on Saturday, December 9 at the Springville Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall from 1 to 3. (The church is off 190 on Bogart--only one way to get on Bogart, and the church is at the top of the hill.) I'll  have copies of both  series including the latest. And yes, they'll have sale prices. and and Every book is $10, Hope you'll stop by and say "hi." Marilyn

THE PSYCHOLOGIST'S SHADOW, by Laury A. Egan

Image
The Psychologist’s Shadow is a portrait of Dr. Ellen Haskell, a compassionate, introspective therapist who finds herself in a dangerous struggle with an unknown stalker. The novel is a simmering suspense, one in which tension accumulates as the reader gains insights during sessions with clients—one of whom may be the psychologist’s shadow—and through the stalker’s journal entries, which serve as a discordant counterpoint. The inspiration for the novel originated in my college interest in psychology. During my later years at Carnegie Mellon University, I selected all of my course electives in that field. Upon graduation, the head of the university’s counseling center and one of my professors approached and urged me to embark on a career as a therapist. I was tempted but didn’t go that route, yet I continued to read books and to follow changes in psychology. When I began this manuscript in 1992 (a second novel), my goal was to meld my interest with my writing, depicting how a ther...

ANGEL LOST, #7 in the RBPD sereis

Image
ANGEL LOST is leading up Detective Milligan's and Stacey Wilbur's wedding. The week before the big day, Stacey is busy trying to catch a man who has been exposing himself to female beachgoers. Abel Navarro's mother is showing signs of Alzheimer's. An complicating the lives of all the Rocky Bluff police officers is a reflection in a large downtown store's big window appears to be an angel. This image is drawing big crowds.  And Stacey disappears right before her wedding. This was another fun book to write. The angel in the window is similar to what happened in Porterville it seemed Jesus Christ's image appeared in a store's window, drawing huge crowds. To buy: Angel Lost (Rocky Bluff P.D. NO BELLS, #8 in the RBPD serues

Image
NO BELLS is Officer Gordon Butler's story. He's always been a favorite of readers of this series. He meets the woman of his dreams who becomes the major suspect in a murder case. Though not  his job, he does some investigating of his own. Nothing ever seems to go quite right for Gordon. This is a fun mystery tale. The title comes from something that happened to one of my sons. All the usual folks from Rocky Bluff P.D. are in NO BELLS.

AN AXE TO GRIND #6 In the RBPD series

Image
Though this one involves a severed head, there are some funny moments.  The story idea came from a talk given by the Fresno Coroner at a Sisters in Crime meeting. He showed gruesome slides and I got the impression he was trying to shock all of us women. He had no idea who we were--mystery writers and readers who loved hearing what he had to share. Of course, the story follows the ongoing romance of Detective Milligan and Officer Stacey Wilbur. There is a gruesome murder to be solved and a mysterious stalker. When Detective Milligan disappears, Stacey sets out to find him. When Doug's beloved MG is found in the lagoon on the University of Santa Barbara's campus, she fears the worst. NO SANCTUARY # 5 in the Rocky Bluff P.D. series

Image
NO SANCTUARY is about two churches, two ministers, and two wives. Stacey Wilbur finds herself in the middle of the complicated murder of her minister's wife. The ministers in this book are not based on any of the ministers or wives that I've known. The big new church on t he bluff in Rocky Bluff is a bit of several big churches I've seen and been in. The old church is like the first church I attended when I was growing up in Los Angeles.  Stacey is also given a gripping job working as a vice cop. This segment is based on a story told by a visiting vice cop at one of our Sisters in Crime meetings.  I enjoyed writing this mystery. To buy:  No Sanctuary (Rocky Bluff P.D. Mysteries): Meredith, F.M.: 9798656226295: Amazon.com: Books   Marilyn who wrote this series as F. M. Meredith.

SMELL OF DEATH #4 in the RBPD series

Image
There are three murders in SMELL OF DEATH. One is a fictionalized version of a real happening. The funny part about the brothers came from a story told me by Porterville brothers. And this is the beginning of Detective  Milligan's and Stacey Wilbur's romance. To buy:  Smell of Death (Rocky Bluff P.D. Mysteries): Meredith, F.M.: 9798655471849: Amazon.com: Books The paperback is cheap and it looks like the Kindle version is free. And here's an explanation why I've been gone so long--I took another bad fall two weeks ago. Caught myself on a wire fence with a jagged top. Result, a pierced elbow and finger, broken bone in foot, and lots of aches and pains. Plus my old computer died. Good friends got me another, took about a week to get all transferred from one to the other. Grandson-in-law set it up for me, and it's taken a while for me to get used to it. But finally, I'm more or less back on track. Marilyn who writers the RPD series as F. M. Meredith
